Description: Untitled Document1 gallon of 100% Pure Vermont Maple Syrup (2021 CROP) Ships as 2 Half GallonsAbout us: Established in 1945, Garry and Eileen purchased the farm on St. Patrick’s Day in 1983! We are a small family farm located in East Fairfield, Vermont. Here we have raised our four children while keeping the farm in production of Vermont Milk and Maple syrup. The same livelihood as Garry's parents before us! We produce Organic Pure Vermont Maple Syrup during its harvesting season. Why should you purchase from us?All of the maple syrup we sell is produced and packaged by our family, here on the farm. Garry & I both grew up as the children of sugar makers, acquiring a natural enthusiasm and skill for producing the finest Pure Vermont Maple Syrup. Our syrup is produced the traditional way, in our family operated sugar house, allowing us to make the beautifully sweet maple syrup that so many of our customers say reminds them of the syrup they once had as a child in Vermont. It is our sincere wish that you too enjoy our product. Maple Syrup Facts:Why is some Maple Syrup Organic? The overall point of organic certification is to verify individual management practices through an independent, third party. Given all the food safety concerns these days, consumers want the assurance that their food is being produced in a safe and sustainable way.Maple syrup is considered a “wild crop” in the organic regulations, and the USDA National Organic Program standards state “a wild crop must be harvested in a manner that ensures that such harvesting or gathering will not be destructive to the environment and will sustain the growth and production of the wild crop.” So it’s not only about what materials have been applied or not applied to the sugar bush; it’s about the overall, long-term sustainable management of the sugar bush itself. This includes implementing practices that maintain tree health and working to ensure the long-term preservation of the forest ecosystem.Keeping records is also a significant requirement of organic certification. Producers must have all records including receipts, production logs, and sales available for review by the inspector. In the end, the producer must be able to track the finished product back to the date of boiling. The Vermont Organic inspector from National Organic Farming Association (NOFA) visits our farm during the spring harvesting season. This independent third party inspects our maple woods, sugar house, canning room, and record books.
