Description: 10" LP In Booklet: The Great Musicians No. 34 - Mendelssohn Part 3 - UK Classical Series issued by Fabbri & Partners Limited in 1969 Comments: Fully play-tested after cleaning. The record contains selected Songs Without Words and Organ Sonata in C minor. Visual Record Condition: The vinyl condition is VG+. It is very glossy with a few light surface marks. The record actually looks almost Near Mint, but I lowered the grade to account for some surface noise that's not consistent with appearance. The source of some of the surface noise is a barely noticeable, slight warp when Side 1 is facing up. Record Labels Condition: The labels look beautiful with no visible wear. The text is easy to read and the graphics look good. There is no writing or stickers on the labels. Play Test Notes: I played this record from start to finish before offering it for sale. General background record surface noise is heard as a mild crackle with some ticks on Side 2. When the music started playing on Side 1, my first thought was "this sounds great!". But as the side progressed a periodic "swoosh" became noticeable about midway and continued to the end of the side, getting louder as the side progressed. The swoosh is apparently the product of a very slight warp (only) when Side 1 is facing up. Forgetting about surface noise, the sound quality in the music is excellent. There were no skips or sticks. You can hear a bit of the record in the video sound sample in the photos section. I sampled a bit toward the end of Side 1 so you can hear the worst of the "swoosh" and see the tone arm move up and down slightly. The Side 2 sample contains a bit of piano and a bit of organ so you can hear how good they sound. Side 2 lies flat and doen't seem affected by the Side 1 warp. Jacket Type and Condition: The 10-inch record is housed in a back pocket at the back of the 12 page booklet. The oversized booklet is about 14 inches x 10 5/8 inches. The cover is glossy cardstock. The pages inside are heavy paper / light cardstock. You can see some wear on the cover, mostly around the edges in the form of dents/creases. General surface wear is pretty light. There is text printed on the spine to identify the issue. Inner Sleeve Type and Condition: The record is housed in a printed paper envelope-style inner sleeve that looks good but does have quite a few wrinkles/creases. Inserts: A small sheet of paper describing the record is included. A 4 page newsletter is stapled in among the pages of the booklet. Shipping Notes: The shipping charge you are asked to pay covers some of the costs I incur for postage and quality packing materials. This will be packed well for secure shipping. By default the package will travel by the slower Media Mail rate. For speedier delivery, an option to use Priority Mail shipping is provided at check-out. The post office makes no delivery time guarantee for Priority Mail, but Priority Mail packages almost always are delivered within 2 or 3 days from the time I hand them over to the post office. I generally pack and ship items sold right away and hand them over to the post office at the earliest opportunity (sometimes same day, sometimes next day).
