105mm M14 WWII Trench Art Artillery Shell Casing Brass Table Lamp 21” 8lb Works

Description: This 1943 trench art is made from brass artillery shells in various sizes! The lamp itself (without bulb) is 20-7/8” inches tall! The base diameter measures at 4-6/8”in. Beautiful patina on the whole unit! Some verdigris in a couple spots from age! Very heavy with a weight of 7lbs 8.6oz. 77”in. Brown cord! Uses a Standard Bulb. WORKS! See photos with lamp LIT UP! (Bulb not included with purchase)! Has the 2-prong plug, and the prongs are labeled LEVITON Pat. Pend. The Leviton markings are also on the bulb socket hardware (very visible), and say the same thing, additionally with Made in USA. 660W. 250V. BRASS labeled on socket as well! PULL CHAIN mechanism! Beautiful tulip head shape handle! CONDITION: Unique and great condition. However MUST MENTION: one of the taller artillery shells near the base wiggles a bit, but I can guarantee you it’s bolted in place and can’t come out! Also, only one of the smaller sized shells next to the loose tall one, is also loose! They’ll never come out due to the way they’re bolted in underneath the base! The socket is also a little tilted but still accepts a bulb just fine and works perfect! This is due to the smelted platform beneath it not being quite level from the start and how it was threaded through! Once it has a shade, it won’t be noticeable! There’s some pit dings in a few areas on the metal of the outer lip edge of the socket! (see photo). This doesn’t mess with the working of it! Has 8 additional shell casings around the base platform, each with heights at 3-3/8”inches and 5-1/2”inches. Base diameter 4-6/8”inches! Artillery markings still visible up near the top before the socket begins: 40mm, MK. II T. / L / RT - 1 - 20 - 1943 (January 20th, 1943 translation) Really unique find! (Not included: bulb or shade!)
