Description: This is a beautiful 10 karat gold Victorian heart locket. It looks like a rose/yellow gold, the inside looks yellow and then the heart insert that comes out looks more of a Rose color gold. I believe I can see what's left of where it was stamped on the loop to the locket but because of its age it's worn off. I tested both inside and outside w/my acid test and it passed for 10 karat gold. I also brought it to my jeweler along with some other pieces to test. In the last picture you can see where my jeweler was rubbing off some of the gold on the inside so he could use his very expensive gold testing gun to make sure it wasn't plated or gold filled. The karat number tested over 10k , it was 11.54k if I remember correctly. But I'm selling as 10k. I also tested with 14k acid, if u test a 10k piece w/14k and it leaves a reddish streak, it means it's definitely solid 10k at the least. You can Google that. You can also see where others have tested it on the inside. There are a couple tiny dings on the outside of the locket but that comes with this being over 100 y/o. The gem on the front may be citrine but I haven't verified that. With gold on the rise this is a great investment. As of 10/31 10k is $37.22/gram making this locket $200 in scrap..( subject to change) NECKLACE NOT INCLUDED
