1/35 King Tiger Henschel Turret Late Prod. ICM #35363 Shrink Wrapped MISB

Description: I need to clear some space on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection. THIS IS MY LAST ONE! ICM is a company from Kiev in Ukraine that has been around since the mid-90’s. It used to be tough to get these in the states but now several big players carry their line. It is good to see that they are still producing new kits, too. This is their totally new kit of the Panzerkampfwagen VI Ausf. B (a.k.a. King Tiger or Tiger II) Heavy Tank. This was a terror on the battlefield but often a nightmare just to get it there. It was lethal against Allied armor and usually required a coordinated, massed attack against it to knock it out, barring some lucky shot. These kits are abundant on eBay (mostly from Europe), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have this in stock and can reliably ship this to you quickly. Here is some of the info I found from around the web: The ICM site has a wonderful page for this kit. They have the stunning box art and four photos of an assembled, unpainted model. On top of that, they provide another half-dozen photos of the sprues, superstructure, tracks and decals, along with two photos of a masterfully finished white-washed King Tiger and four photos of one that has the three color paint scheme. They also give us a link to download the 24 page PDF of the instruction set and the following fun facts about the Königstiger: The most heavy and powerful tank of WWII was the German Pz.Kpfw.VI Ausf. B. It was designed by Henschel Company under the leadership of E. Aders. Its serial production was launched in February 1944. The tank had a heavy armor and long-barreled 8,8 cm cannon. Its armor-piercing projectile was capable of hitting any allied tank at a distance of 2000 m and above. However, the tank possessed insufficient mobility and reliability of the power plant and the transmission. The tank received army nicknames Tiger II or Königstiger. Since July 1944 Henschel turrets were installed, and since October 1944 – applying of the Zimmerit coating was stopped. Pz.Kpfw.VI Ausf. B tanks until the end of the war served in heavy tank battalions. Germany produced 479 Königstigers in 1944-1945. Scalemates.com shows that this is a new tooling from 2016 that was the foundation for several other releases across the ICM, Revell and Hasegawa brands. There are dozens of links to reviews, aftermarket parts, references, walkarounds and beautiful galleries to inspire your build. Frank Richter did a detailed First Look Review on the German-language modellversium.de site. We get a helpful photo of the entire kit laid out on a surface, so you get an idea of what you get. Beyond that, he gives us over three dozen close-up pictures of the parts, painting guide and the entire instruction set. He was not a fan of the rubber tracks, but thought this should be a straightforward build, saying: “It is certainly not a high-tech kit a la Trumpeter or Dragon, but the assembly should be done quickly and without complications.” Darren Baker authored an In Box Review on the armorama.kitmaker.net site. There are a couple dozen photos of the parts showing the high level of detail. He was unhappy with the split gun barrel and lack of clear periscope parts but balanced that by saying: “The good areas are the partial interior detail and I include the breech in that, the tracks on the turret hangers being very well tackled and the weld detail where required.” This kit is in a colorful box about 16.5” x 10.5” x 2.5”. As you can see from the pictures, the package is pristine and still snug in the original shrink wrap, so it is factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains one complete injection molded plastic model kit with over 250 grey plastic parts and a set of decals to build a majestic King Tiger to dominate your battlefield scene. It requires cement and paint to complete as shown. I use eBay Managed Payments, but I no longer ship internationally. Auction winner pays the winning bid plus, for a limited time, I am offering this large kit with $10 Flat Rate Shipping in the US! No reserve and a low starting bid. Check out my other great auctions for combined shipping. Good luck! Those familiar with my listings can tell that I really enjoy these products and the modeling hobby. I like to provide more than just the bare facts about the items, trying to lead you into discovering more about the subjects and optimizing your builds (if that is your goal). I started out picking up models that I was interested in, with the eye toward building them when I had time. Always a bargain-hunter, I accumulated many more than I can build, so I found myself in a Collector status (sounds nicer than a hoarder). As I am sure you have noticed, my items are almost always sealed and in mint condition (I call them Gift-Ready), since I only open them when I am ready to build them. Now I enjoy making these products available to my fellow modelers; both Builders and Collectors. For the Builders, there are probably better (at least cheaper) ways to add to your project lists than buying from me, but you know you are getting top quality. For Collectors, my goal is to save you a few bucks over the competition for the same item in factory sealed and collectible (or resellable) condition.
