This fabulous ring features high-quality natural-not enhanced, bright white fiery diamonds from different times in history. There are Old European cut diamonds first used in the 1890s and were hand-cut by talented diamond cutters. There are also brilliant-cut diamonds, first used in the 1920s with the invention of the bruting machine, which were added to the ring sometime later. The use of different styles forges the past with the present in a most harmonious way. The hand-carved mounting is very bright and white and has a decorative hand-carved milgrain design trim. Before modern times, white gold was manufactured using platinum, palladium, and or rhodium as an additional alloy. This made white gold almost twice the cost of yellow gold. The good thing was that white gold would stay white throughout a lifetime. This piece has survived for over 100 years and is still in excellent antique condition.
