According to Kurtis Roberts, the team had 3 bikes, one main bike for each rider and a shared backup bike. These are the two main bikes used by Roberts and Hayden. They are unrestored, as last raced in 1999. Before Nicky Hayden was a Moto GP world Champion, he rode for teams in the USA. One of the teams was Erion Racing.Nicky rode both the 600 Supersport class (in which he won the 1999 600 Championship) and the unlimited class in which he rode the CBR900RR. This is the 1999 CBR900RR Erion Racing bike that Nicky Hayden rode to second place in the AMA Formula Xtreme Championship. It came down to the last race and whoever won it would be the Champion. Nicky ended up having a mechanical failure allowing his teammate to win the Championship. The bike is exactly as it was raced, unrestored. You can see the signs of Nicky’s frustration in the hand pounded dents on the top of the tank. The CBR900RR was introduced in 1992 as a 1993 model setting the new standard for a large displacement sportbikes for years to come. It was the size and weight of a 600cc motorcycle.
