And at the earnest desires of divers godly Christians now printed and published;whereunto is adjoyned a tract, intituled Immanvel, or, The mystery of the incarnation of the Son of God heretofore writen [sic] and published by the same authour. The first time ever researched at market, this 1645 first edition of James Usshers Body of Divinitie contains important ownership, with handwritten inscriptions, annotations and a travel log from the 1670s-1680s, passing from multiple important hands of important gentry in the York River area of Virginia! All loosely tied to the house of Burgesses, the book passed from the Carr family, with notations from Thomas Carr Sr entering into the York River, Virginia in 1671 on the Ship Mary, noting the master as Thomas Barber, owner as Samuel Osteen, and commanded by Capt Richard Cobb. The inscription below it notes Thomas Srs wife Mary coming into the York River in 1678, in the ship Planters Adventure, commanded by Capt Ransom. THIS VERY SHIP WAS OWNED BY NATHANIEL BACON OF THE FAMOUS BACONS REBELLION! Thomas goes on to note the marriage between himself and Mary in 1679 at St Peter's Church and Parish, by Rev William Sellick, in New Kent County where the church still stands! After passing through his son's hands (Major Thomas Carr), it was passed seemingly around between his 2 sons and daughter, whom inchude John Carr (whose son Dabney married Martha Jefferson sister to Thomas Jefferson himself! BOTH THOMAS CARRS AND JOHN CARR WERE IN THE HOUSE OF BURGESSES THOMAS JEFFERSON HIMSELF USED THE POLICIES AND METHODS USED IN THE HOUSE OF BURGESSES FOR HIS Own formations in government, even for Contant and use of his most famous work, the DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE! This Thomas Carr is also widely accepted at the progenitor of the Carr family in the Americas, and before this, was not exactly known how he arrived in Virginia – – this is the primary source that answers that question for the first time in history! The book then was inscribed by the important colonial leader John Smith (of Purton) in 1680, cousin of the famed captain John Smith of Jamestown/Pocahontas fame, and was annotated throughout the book in both Latin, Greek and in English. Speaker of the house of Burgesses and one of the most prominent men in the colonies at the time.
