It stars Spike Jones and his crazy band. It was to have been an Abbot & Costello feature, but Costello was ill so Universal picked to actors on contract that were of similar physical shape. Hugh O'Brian before he became TV's Wyatt Earp, took Bud Abbott's role and Buddy Hackett took Lou Costello's part. The film is fast and very VERY funny. The three are firemen. Spike and his City Slickers are the best, with O'Brian trying to help his buddy Hackett (no joke intended, swell maybe) with a formula for putting out fires quickly.
