17" Vintage Composition Shirley Temple Type Toddler Baby Doll Orig. Dress 1930s

Description: From my collection: 17" All composition Shirley Temple-type unmarked toddler baby doll, likely from late 1930s. She is in very good condition with no odors. Head: Painted face with blue eyes and upper eye liner, dimpled cheeks, red lip color and molded hair painted light auburn. Her head has no crazing that I can find, no cracks or chips. She has paint wear on the back of her head (please see photos). Composition: Her toddler composition body is in excellent condition, especially considering she is over 80 years old. She has all fingers and toes with minimal paint wear. She has mold seam marks on the arms and legs and a few small clumps of extra composition build-up that suggests that she was made by a copycat company that was not up to the quality of the authorized Ideal Shirley baby dolls. But she has held up so well that they must have used good-quality composition materials even if they did not have the same workmanship. Clothing: I feel confident that her dress and onesie are original to the doll. They fit her perfectly and appeal spot-on for the fabric type of that era. The pink and brown plaid dress has two sleeve ruffles and buttons in back. The onesie buttons in back and also at the crotch. Both are in good condition. The bonnet is age-appropriate and could be original. It is in weathered condition with some holes and badly frayed ribbon ties. The quilted bib is nicely stitched and could also be original to the doll. It has a button in back, but needs a thread closure. The wool booties are likely old baby booties and have holes as expected of old wool. No returns, please, unless I have somehow misrepresented her in my description. Thank you.
