Description: Offered here is a small copper engraving, from the 17th century, depicting Tripoli, in modern Libya, in both a map form and with an illustration of the port. The engraving was published by Alain Manesson Mallet (French, 1630-1706) who was a cartographer and engineer. This print was published in a German language edition of the work. I am not sure which edition, but I believe it was in the later 17th century. The dimensions of the sheet are 7 3/4 inches (height) by 5 3/4 inches (width). Some of these prints were colored, either contemporaneously or later; this example is not colored. This print is from my personal collection which I am beginning to sell off. Please read the condition description carefully and review the photographs. Unless noted otherwise in the description, the prints, art and other items that I sell are not "reproductions". For example, offered maps are of the period. I do my best to accurately describe the items being sold, but if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me. Please check my other listings for additional items of interest. I will combine shipping.
