Rear board is attached to binding via fragile cording. Original leather boards have an interesting coloring applied, including red, green, and black. Chipping and scuffing to boards. Tips are bumped with exposed boards. Fore edges are painted yellow. Chipping and cracking to spine, but still legible; title in gilt. Small chip at tail with exposed binding. Provenance in ink on flyleaf (possibly Andrea Rufsee Potterville, April 24, 1835). No known marginalia. Toning, age-staining, and foxing throughout textblock. An early work on women's etiquette and education, predating the American release of Bennett's Strictures on Female Education by one year (First American Edition was published in 1791).
