Description: Only edition of this compilation of drawings by James Pattinson Cockburn, a military man who illustrated many of the cities that he visited in the course of duty. Compiled with text by T.L. Donaldson, architect and engraved by W.B. Cooke, this is the only edition of this particular work. Wonderful Engravings throughout with several colored images as well as several sketches and landscapes. Covers many areas of the city including a wonderful double map, location of the volcano, various surviving pieces accompanied by a nicely written description by Donaldson. This is volume one.
