Description: This is an early wood encased hand blown glass inkwell from the 1830s or 40s (possibly even older?)....Feather quill pen is only for display and does not come with the inkwell.....the wood outer case is round .... The hand blown glass ink bottle has a rolled in lip...aqua ....it probably has a pontil scar on bottom....This blown glass bottle was placed inside and a wood plug was inserted into the bottom of the wood inkwell.....1 1/2"tall x 2"round..Two holes on top to hold feather quill pens. (the quill pen in picture is only for display and is not included)...good condition with only a small nick on edge of shoulder....Blown glass ink bottle itself has no chips or damage. All original old patina. This inkwell came from an old New England estate ...
