Christian Gobrecht's new, more mature Ms. Liberty replaced John Reich's younger, more flippant image, and the Motto and scroll were removed from the reverse. The two varieties of RE halves are "50 CENTS", 1836 & 1837, and "HALF DOL." 1838 & 1839.
