A textbook "45", with lotsa luster, light even wear, natural medium pewter patina, which flashes some nice colors with a loupe and a light. Christian Gobrecht's new, more mature Ms. Liberty replaced John Reich's younger, more flippant image, and the Motto and scroll were removed from the reverse. The two varieties of RE halves are "50 CENTS", 1836 & 1837, and "HALF DOL." 1838 & 1839.
