Obverse: bust of King Friedrich Wilhelm III with the signature "BRANDT F". Reverse: ERINNERUNG ("memory") surrounded by the inscription "GEB. D. 3. AUGUST 1770. GEST. AM HEILIGEN PFINGST TAGE DEN 7 JUNI 1840". The engraver was Heinrich Franz Brandt (1789–1845), Swiss, first medalist of the Royal Mint of Berlin (Königlichen Berliner Münze).
