(Covers have rubbing, moderate wear at edges and corners on front board, faded spine lettering. Rear endpaper is torn off; soil and spotting on pastedowns and front endpaper. Dampstain on frontis plates, title page and first 15 text pages. The text is complete and intact except for a few pages with old tape repair and the final text page which has a torn-off piece at the fore margin with a resulting loss of a few characters on about 12 lines. Text pages have occasional spotting, soil and dampstains but all text is readable. The illustrations are generally clean and clear; some of the plates have light spotting or browning at the margins.)
