A simple internet search will produce many results on the historical importance and documentation of this RARE 1847 print. As shown in the last pictures this piece was torn at sometime since 1847 before being framed. It is not torn all the way across in the middle. The tear is on the left going into the middle, the a few inches are ok and then is torn all the way to the right edge. There are a couple of little tears on the top edge as well. The tear is surprisingly not noticeable until you are up close on the art. However the price reflects the damage on this rare piece of art.
