Description: A mint state cent that was lightly cleaned long ago and is retoning frosty light bluish steel brown with lots of the mellowing artificial red remaining in protected areas. No spots or stains, but there are very faint hairlines on the obverse. A shallow planchet chip midway along the jaw line and a thin vertical nick on the right edge of the curl at star 13 are the only notable marks. Sharply struck EDS, die state a, with sharp repunching visible on the 184. Not in the overall condition census for the variety but finest known of the early die state.
