Description: The Military Heroes of the War of 1812: With a Narrative of the War. By Charles J. Peterson and published in Philadelphia by William A. Leary. 1848, 282 pp, 6.25x9.25’’, hardcover binding. In good condition. This is a nicely rebound copy of a two-part history on the War of 1812. The covers and spine have very minimal wear. The name of the previous owner, J.W. Good, is stamped onto the front cover, as pictured. The name was stamped onto the spine, but has since been mostly removed. There is a book binding sticker at the bottom of the front inside cover from Small’s Book Bindery in York, Pennsylvania. Pages have age-related toning and foxing. Hinges are in good condition and pages have good support throughout. Illustrations have slight toning but are otherwise in good condition and clear to see. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. The War of 1812 was fought with the United States and their Indigenous allies against the United Kingdom and its allies in British North America. This is an interesting, illustrated, and in-depth look at the individuals that proved themselves to be heroes during this war. An excellent addition to the personal library of anyone interested in United States military history. COLU1848BEFO
