Description: Very attractive large, hand coloured, untitled map of lower North, Central & South America & Caribbean with Texas, Florida and Galapagos by Walker J&C, c1850. The date is approximate due to war and the border surveys being disrupted. This map is similar to various earlier 1830 and 1842-48 SDUK maps, but this one has the Mexico border dotted line and coloured as now and with "United States" appearing above the "America". Texas and Florida are labelled separately. Bermuda and smaller Caribbean islands are highlighted roughly. Similarly it still has the high tide times in local and Greenwich times on the coast and co-tidal lines in the marine areas. Excellent plate impression on lovely old thick paper with only slight age toning to the paper edges. Loose sheet 8 with no fold lines and no signs of being bound.
