Chapters focus on water, soil, bread, natural sweets, tea, beef, liquors, narcotics, odours, bodies, and more.Johnston (1796-1855) was a Scottish agricultural chemist and mineralogist. CONDITION In half calf bindings. Externally generally smart, with light rubbing to the joints and extremities and shelf wear to the boards. Loss to the spine label of Volume II. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright with the odd spot.
