1855 George Thompson: Prison Life and Reflections Abolitionists

Description: George Thompson, Alanson Work and James E. Burr were arrested in Missouri in 1841 for attempting to free slaves. They were incarcerated in Palmyra Prison until their trials and sent to various penitentiaries after sentencing. This is a compendium of the events that Thompson encountered during his incarceration covering a variety of topics. In good condition, there is some foxing throughout along with crack starting at the front hinge from the bottom up. Chips to the edges of the boards and corners. Binding tight and secure. Some loss to head and tail of spine.
