Description: Here is a fascinating and rare award medal from the British Horological Institute. Designed by J. J. Hall, whose name appears in tiny letters on the obverse at the 6 o'clock position. Diameter is 70mm; weight 163 grams. On the edge is inscribed: "British Horological Institute awarded to Edwin Cooper for practical work and theory 1906." Provenance: Stacks-Bowers, 14 August 2019, lot 22809. At the time of the auction, the medal was encased in a PCGS holder, cert. no. 34506834, graded SP-64. Unfortunately, while in my possession, the holder was damaged, and the medal had to be removed. There was no change in the condition of the medal itself. According to PCGS, the mintage was 260. Don't hesitate to ask any questions that come to mind. Thanks for looking!
