Description: This is the 1860 Rail Splitter campaign token. It has been in our family since 1872, so if it was polished, it would have been without the use of power tools. I believe the finish to be original, as I know the ownership and no one would ever have polished any coin. Light scratches exist throughout the entire strike of the coin that any attempt of polish would have tried to remove. I simply believe it is one of the millions that NGC has got wrong. Study the surface under magnification and wether you agree or not, it is one of the finest examples out there
