Description: Stereoview photograph of a woman sewing or doing needlework, probably in eastern Connecticut, circa 1870s. No photographer or publisher identified. The untitled view shows a young woman seated in a chair looking down at her hands as she works on a narrow strip of fabric or lace. A two tier sewing basket filled with white material stands next to the chair. I believe the woman is sewing. This view came with a lot that included several stereoviews from Putnam, Connecticut, and I suspect this may be from that area. The stereoview is in good condition with light wear and soiling. Note the light to moderate rubbing and bumping at the corners of the card. The photographs exhibit good tonal range and show good or better detail. A nice early sewing related image!
