1874 Leather Bound Revised Statutes of Illinois Harvey B. Hurd

Description: Description: Antique 1874 edition of Revised Statues from the state of Illinois. Leather binding. This book has been modified by its original owner - please make sure you read the full description and condition and review all pictures so you are aware! Missing pages prevent me from seeing a title page, but from research I believe this book to have been written by Harvey B. Hurd. Condition: Leather binding shows wear to corners and edges. More wear to leather on the spine binding. Ripped near the bottom exposing the spine. Some foxing, spotting, and damage to leather on the covers. Message inscribed on front page dated 1896 when book was presented to its previous owner. It appears as though previous owner began to use a section of pages near the beginning as a scrapbook for newspaper clippings of poems. These antique poems have been pasted in and some pages have been removed to make room. I cannot be sure how many pages are removed or what the contents of these pages was. Unaffected pages are in good condition with only light discoloration. A few pages have writing or folds. I have tried to show some of the writing, but due to picture limits there is more than can be shown. For this book in particular, please carefully review all pictures - it is the best way to assess the condition for yourself. The book that is pictured is the one you will receive.
