Description: This plat map is from a 1875 Illustrated Atlas map of St. Charles County Missouri published by W.R. Brink & Company of Illinois. These Township maps are what I would call sectional Township maps. Each map from this book is only a section of a Township. Some of the maps even will contain portions of two townships. I will do my best to describe the area covered. This map covers the Mississippi River from Grafton landing area to the Port Charles area. The county map from this atlas shows only 6 townships in the county, none of which exists now. This was part of Portage Des Sioux Township in 1875. References on these maps include things such as: schoolhouses, churches, Mills, blacksmith shops, cemeteries, roads, railroads and proposed railroads, stone quarries, orchards, timber, Swamp, creeks, lime kilns and coal. The title page shown is not Included in this auction but is shown for your verification purposes. This map is a single page measuring 14" x 17½". This map would present nicely in a frame.
