Description: I have here for sale a book entitled LIFE AND FINDING OF DR LIVINGSTONE Containing the Original Letters written by H M STANLEY to the "New York Herald" New and Enlarged Edition with an Account of Dr Livingstone's Death and Latest Discoveries Portraits and Numerous Illustrations published by Dean & Son, Publishers, London, undated, but online research indicates c.1880. Here we have the letters written by H M Stanley to the "New York Herald" who funded the expedition to Africa to find David Livingstone. The book includes 16 full-page b/w plates.Burgundy cloth boards with gilt and black lettering and a gilt illustration on the front board. Minor marks on the boards. Burgundy lettering on a gilt background on the spine with a little wear to the top and bottom. Gilt page edges. Gift inscription on the front endpaper. Foxing and staining to prelims, frontispiece illustration and title page, and browning to pages 276-277. . The binding is loose and pages 305-320 are partially detached, but all pages are intact and the book is in very good overall condition. 332 pages, plus publisher's catalogue 4 pages. 18.5 x 13.5 cm.We have over 2000 items in our Ebay shop on a range of subjects, so please feel free to have a browse and see if anything else takes your fancy.Postage will be by Air Mail outside of UK.
