Description: An amazing cabinet photo showing sixteen clowns in different costumes. This wonderful sepia cabinet photo shows a wide & entertaining range of looks in the costumes & their attitudes. The back of the matt has some old lightly penciled wording which is incomplete. Photo & matt show considerable soiling & age toning & some browning & spotting here & there. The edge around the image is somewhat lighter than the rest of the image. We think that the photo has probably aged that way. However, we are not entirely clear as to whether the photo was issued with that affect or whether the photo has aged that way. Matt shows some browning from age. The edges & corners show wear. The top right corner is damaged & has some paper loss. A previous owner has put a small piece of clear tape on the back of matt at this corner to help retain some incomplete original pieces of the corner which are still present. The bottom front edge of the matt has the photographer's marking of the English photographer: "J. Edmunds, Photo. High St., Rugby". The size is 6 1/2 inches by 4 1/4 inches.
