Description: 1880's Native American Hupa Karuk Yurok Woven Basketry Tribal Hat California Not sure of the tribe, so I tried to cover the suspects. 6 1/4" x 7 1/4" Very Good condition: Basketry is solid, and not deteriorated (It had been in a cedar chest in my Grandfather attic since the 1930's. My great Granfather made a western tour in the 1880's and I would guess that is when he got this.) No No breaks, splits, or repairs to the fibers. No water damage, mustiness, or odors. Or any other defects that I could see. Very solid - not fragile at all. hat1 hat
