Description: 1880’s Joe Battin cabinet cabinet card. Published by Lawyer of Pittsburgh. Battin played mostly second and third. Battin was a player/manager for the Pirates 1883 through 1884. He was the highest paid baseball player in the mid 1870’s. Battin was Cap Anson’s best man at Anson’s wedding. This card likely dates from 1884 by mat style. Battin played for Pittsburgh of the National League and of the Union Association that season. Card is a little less than 5 by 7 inch in size. Stains, toning and wear. Some minor creasing.
