Description: We LOVE this VERY HIGH END rarity! It has it all in terms of quality, rarity, and eye appeal. Only with a strong glass can you see some scattered tiny ticks. Nothing is serious or stands out. As you would expect on such a low-minted coin, the surfaces have strong semi-prooflike mirrors. You can see plenty of original skin too. Both sides area GEM original deeper gold color. There are no spots or discolorations. All wear is light and is even. Miss Liberty and the details are well struck. The eye appeal is phenomenal! Only 500 pieces were minted. PCGS 7, NGC 5, CAC 1. CAC has only beaned 10 higher. There has not been ANY 1881's sold via auction since-ready for this 2010 (14+ years ago-WOW). If you are building a $3 set, it will be a very long time before any others come around (most likely there are less than 150 pieces that exist period). A great coin to own!
