A great find from a local New England estate! This scarce antique volume is over 143 years old! 1st Edition. Ex-library. In nice condition overall! Original publisher cloth binding shows wear as pictured. Spine has been repaired with cloth from a similar volume. Binding also shows rubbing and soiling to the boards and spine, general wear around the extremities including chipping, light bumping to the corners and spine extremes, and some rubbing and soiling to the dyed page edges. Otherwise this is an attractive, well-preserved antique volume! Internally, this volume is in good shape overall. Both the front and rear hinges show some wear, however both boards and all page groupings remain attached to the binding (with the exclusion of the editor’s preface page, which has become detached from the binding). This is an ex-library volume with library markings visible on the title page. Otherwise this volume is clean and free from signatures and inscriptions. The text block of this volume is clean throughout. As mentioned, the editor’s preface page is detached from the binding. Other wear includes typical age-related toning to the pages, as well as some light foxing and soiling scattered throughout, some minor edge wear in spots, but otherwise this volume is clean and free from rips, tears, writing and markings.
