George Eliot is the pen name of Mary Ann Evans, an English novelist, journalist, translator and poet who was a leading writer of the Victorian era. NICE DECORATIVE BOOK. Green boards with stamped floral design embossed in attractive Art Nouveau style. There is gilt lettering on spine and golden George Eliot signature stamps on the spine and front cover. Boards have wear at corners and top and bottom of spine. Text is lightly browned, very clean and in good reading condition. Binding is intact with some slight separation in top corner of first inside pages; hinges aged. See photos for full condition. Previous owner name and 1887 date handwritten on frontspiece.
