Three parts in one as issued, each with a halftitle, separately dated titlepage (1884, 1881 & 1883), pagination and signatures. A comprehensive guide to the game of Whist, with red and black printed illustrations throughout. Small 8vo, bound in period gilt ruled half green morocco over cloth covered boards, spine gilt lettered and ruled with red morocco label, all page edges gilt. Period plain endpapers. Measuring approx 11cm by 17cm. Three parts in one, each with a halftitle, separately dated titlepage, pagination and signatures. xii, 276; xiii, [3], 134; xiii, [3], 218, [8]pp, including an 8pp list of publishers advertisements at rear, red and black printed illlustrations throughout. The binding is holding firmly and in good condition, lightly rubbed to surfaces, hinges scuffed, spine a touch sunned and with circular stain, extremities and corners bumped and abraded. Contents in good clean condition if lightly toned and dustmarked, more notable toward page edges, sporadic darkening to page edges.
