1890s Antique Hertwig Germany China Head Doll 22” Pet Name MARION~Orig Body

Description: Charming German antique china head doll. Pet name "Marion" by Hertwig. Dates from the late 1800s. Markings on her front and back. Low brow curly black hair. Body looks original. If not, it's pretty old! Measures about 22" long. Her dress was made for her and fit her well! Red brocade fabric with a black panel of floral taffeta. Decorated with black lace and black satin ribbon. Attached underslip and crinoline. Matching red pantaloons. Black thin knit stockings and oilcloth shoes. Oil cloth is hardened~one is missing front button. Fabric is opened at both underarms with a little fraying on the back neckline. No damage to the head. Has a little bit of old paper stuck. Good coloring. No chips or repairs. Head measures 6" tall and feels heavy! Body is very old. Has some older fabric panels sewn in place. No hands~no evidence on arms if there was hands~no glue or stitching marks. Did not take off boots~Legs and feet seemed okay. Boots are dry so I didn't think I could get them back on! No odors.
