Description: An AMAZING estate find, with an incredible story. These clothes all belonged to the same man. Around 1890, he and his buddy left New Jersey and traveled to California....on horseback....then they travelled back again...on horseback! I know that may not seem like an incredible feat today, but imagine the wilds to be traversed 130 years ago. Needless to say, these cherished items had been put up and well preserved. They remain together with their true American spirit! I'm hoping they stay together. First the hat. A great period Stetson in remarkedly good condition for the age. Missing band, some wear here and there but beautiful and supple. The shirt - wow, what an incredible piece. Soft buckskin leather that is perfectly supple and intact without rips. May be missing a button and some patina but in amazing condition considering the age and use. It is a great piece. The leather cuffs were made by R.T. Frazier of Pueblo Co. and are stamped as shown on the leather and buttons. Super condition. The chaps. You will find none better! They are in superior condition inside and out. No fur loss, no staining, leather is soft and supple. These chaps are VERY well made with no quality details spared. There is a "32" stamped on the belt which I assume is the size. They were obviously made in a top end shop. They are beautiful. The spurs. Missing a "bell" and one leather piece has a hole split but they are all hand made and wonderfully tooled on the iron. This lot is 100% authentic, period and true to the story. If you collect the absolute best in Western Americana, this lot is for you. Check my feedback. Please ask any questions prior to bidding. Thanks for stopping and good luck!
