Description: A 1 1/2 inch tall x 4 inch wide round - flat SUN COLORED AMETHYST antique CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS - AMERICUS VESPUCIUS souvenir glass bowl. It has great embossed pictures all around the bowl of these two explorers as well as the American USA Coat of Arms. This is a commemorative bowl, made at the 500 year anniversary of Columbus' discovery in 1592. One of the better features of this glass bowl is that the glass has taken on a significant SUN COLORED AMETHYST (sca) tint, common among pre-1914 glass-ware. It is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE blown-glass bowl, dated "1892". Bowl pictures: Christopher Columbus, Americus Vespucius, and different official symbols, as seen in the pictures. Condition: The bowl is in nice clean condition. It has a paper thin flake of glass missing from one corner of the base, too small to photo and you have to look for it to see. Otherwise it is fine, NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc. It evidently had a tin lid at one time as there is a molded rim around the lip to hold one. Please see pictures for idea of overall appearance and condition. Age: An ORIGINAL ANTIQUE blown-glass bowl, dated 1892. Shipping: FREE domestic shipping. We DO ship Internationally but we do NOT insure International orders unless buyer specifically requests this and we are able to provide an insurance estimate. If an international shipping charge is much more than the actual shipping cost, we will refund the excess so what YOU pay for shipping/insurance is very close to, if not exactly, the ACTUAL shipping costs! This is important for foreign buyers to know as most of our foreign shipping charges are estimates. We do not falsify information on the Customs Form, such as a price other than what the actual purchase price is, so please do not request us to do so. We ship several times a week and your prompt payment will hasten the turn-around time. A very worthy and historically important antique commemorative bowl. Within the pictures of Christopher Columbus are the dates "1492 - 1892", marking the 500th year but also dating the making of this bowl prior to this 1892 event. The detail in the pictures are great, it highlights them in frosted or satin glass. And of great interest is the significant SUN COLORED AMETHYST (sca) tint that the glass itself has. With few exceptions, sun colored amethyst glass predates 1914. A historically important bowl, check it out!Terms of Sale: Our goal is 100% customer satisfaction.
