MCLAUGHLIN & Co. of Chicago Illinois. to advertise their brand of XXXX Coffee, during 1893 (according to the copyright on the front) . It is one from a series of 16 cards entitled “ Arab and Malay Scenes ” . This series has been designated as series K54 in Burdick’s American Card Catalogue (ACC ). The front of the card shows a colorful portrait of life in the Arab nations as it appeared at the Time. The colorful lithography was done by the Knapp Lithography Company of New York. The back of the card features advertising for McLaughlin XXXX Coffee. This card features and Egyptian Mother & Son . The card measures 5 ¼ inches by 6 ¾ inches approximately. The card does have some corner creasing, and a few areas of discoloration. I think it is a great image. This is a scarce series. I have scanned both the front and back of the card fairly large for you to be able to judge condition for yourself. .
