Description: U.K. postal cover from 1895 mailed to Tour-de-Peilz, Switzerland, with that town's cancellation on reverse. The half penny stamp bears the image of Queen Victoria. The recipient of this mailing, Henrietta Malvina Inglefield, died seven years later in 1902 as a widow in Switzerland at another hotel (see image from her probate file). The hotel where she was staying in 1895, Bon Rivage, is still standing on Lake Geneva and was built in 1864. The envelope measures just under 9 by 4 inches.
