Description: 1895 Antique Print This very ornate image is 120 years old. This is from "The American Dictionary and Cyclopedia" (1898). This is an original print not a reproduction. This nice image measures approximately 6" x 8" on stock paper measuring approximate 8-1/2" x 11. The picture does not capture all of the detail in the print and may exaggerate the antique paper coloring. Christoph Martin Wieland was a German poet and writer. He is best-remembered for having written the first Bildungsroman, as well as the epic Oberon, which formed the basis for Carl Maria von Weber's opera of the same name. Note: Some of the shading in the image (the corners) is a result of the photo. I have over 200 famous people, scientists, politicians, writers, artists, presidents, kings, queens, religious leaders, philosophers, actors, etc., in this same style of print. Please inquire.
