Based on the bookplate, and inscriptions, the way I interpret to provenance and chain of owner ship is: The book was gifted to Rebecca Latimer Felton in around 1897 from Ellen Dortch (Longstreet's second wife), then the book becomes owned by Howard Felton (Rebecca Felton's son) likely after her death. Rebecca Latimer Felton (1835-1930) was the first female Senator in the US., serving only one day, her term passed to her after the death of William H. Felton. 2 loose blanks at front / prelims + v-xxii, 698 pages plus 3 blank leaves at the end. All 30 illustrations AND all 16 maps present in excellent condition. SEE PHOTOS
