Description: This is the 1900 Liber Brunensis, the yearbook of Brown University. First edition, not ex-library. Excellent condition. It features individual photos of graduates of 1915 as well as photos of member of sports teams and other organizations. There are group class photos One notable soon-to-be graduate is David Connolly Hall. His photo appears with the rest of the Track Team on page 179. Page 178 states that Hall was the Captain of the 1900 Track Team. There is a section devoted to Pembroke Hall, Brown's Women's College, on pages 137-157. This includes individual photos of graduating senior women, as well as names of those women, names of junior women, sophomore women, and freshman women. There are names (not photos) of graduate students on pages 76-84. Wikipedia: " David Connolly Hall (May 1, 1875 – May 27, 1972) was an American middle distance runner. He was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada and died in Seattle. He won the bronze medal in the 800 metres track and field race at the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris. His time in the final is unknown. The race was won by Alfred Tysoe, who had taken second in the preliminary heat which Hall had won with a time of 1:59.0.On page 181, the yearbook states that Hall had the best record of the New England Inter-Collegiate Athletic Association in 1898 for the Half-Mile Run (2 minutes). Hall also competed in the 1500 metres, placing fourth. Hardcover, first edition, the yearbook is in excellent condition. No binding issues, no foxing There are no loose or missing pages. It measures 9.75" x 7.75" and has a dark green cover with attractive drawing of university building and trees at the top of front board. There is minor bumping to edges of boards. The book has 264 pages, plus 25 pages of advertisements. Mostly black and white illustrations.
