Description: An interesting, unusual quilt - it is 2 quilts in 1. However, both are in cutter condition.Size - 59" x 67" The top is circa 1900's - One Block pattern - w/lots of cigar felts flags from many different nations. TIED quilt. Varying flag sizes -4"x7", 7" x 9". There are also solid color pieces. The cigar felts are in very vintage shades - blue, cream, red, green, beige. Most of the solid colors are dark - navy, burgundy, gold. The cigar felts are cotton - other pieces are wool or cotton. Patchwork backing.There is an older quilt underneath the One Block - a Victorian quilt in the Log Cabin pattern. Parts of this quilt are visible thru the patchwork backing. Blocks are 7" x 7-1/2". Classic Log Cabin design - narrow strips (lots of patchwork) - solid colors, plaids & prints in very Victorian shades. Cotton & wool fabric. This quilt also appears to be a TIED quilt.Condition - cutter - the cigar flags top has frayed edges - some pieces have moth damage. Most of the flags are in good condition.The patchwork backing over the Log Cabin quilt has rips & missing pieces. When one quilt is made over another, it usually means that the older quilt had wear & flaws.
