Description: This listing is for a 1900s receipt from the United Jewish Public Kitchen & Immigrants Sheltering Home or "Beth Tawshil Haklali". In Hebrew their name is "בית התבשיל הכללי". This receipt is undated but is most likely from the late 1920s or early 1930s and definitely before 1941 as the Rabbi, Shlomo Eliach, whose printed signature appears at the bottom, died in 1941. This receipt is mostly in English and Yiddish with a little Hebrew. On the back is a section about the "PASSOVER FESTIVAL AT UNITED JEWISH PUBLIC KITCHEN & IMMIGRANTS SHELTERING HOME" in English and Yiddish that was translated from an April 24th, 1927 issue of Palestine Daily Mail "Dear Hayom", which provides us with another clue as to the date. At the top is a drawing of the southern view of their new building. There is a Shana Tova greeting in Hebrew and English. The mailing address is listed as Jerusalem, Palestine. This receipt measures 9 3/4" x 13 3/4". It has been stored folded up for many years and has fold lines as well as a few other small creases and a couple of small tears along the edges. Please see the photos for more detail. Money-back guarantee.
