A Tramp Art picture frame of beautiful, rare design: Multiple stepped chip carved layers -in places up to 4/5 layers. With panels of (faded red) velvet covering Old, original finish - dated 1901 at the bottom It holds three old photos of a family at the turn of the century It's ornately monogramed A M above the central photo Crested by a crown-like nicely designed top The four corners elaborately decorated with petaled leaves on their stems Measures 22 inches by 16 inches photos measure: central one: 6 ½ ｽ by 4 ½ inches two smaller ones: 4 ½ by 2 ¾ inches The condition is consistent with age and use: see photos with a nick to a chip here and there and tiny pieces of chips missing -nothing out of the ordinary for a piece of this vintage In my other auctions and in my store you can find some more frames and Black Forest carving!
