Its strapline at the time was: A weekly illustrated journal for society, the salon and the services. Though short lived, it excelled in each of these areas. It faded away from the news stands in March 1904. The Navy and Army came back on its own in a smaller format in 1914 for World War 1 and focussed on just military matters.
