Description: I have for sale a souvenir pin back medal for Saint Louis, Mo. and the U.S.S. Nashville. In 1904 the Louisiana Purchase exposition was held, but I could not find any connection with the exposition and the U.S.S. Nashville, or St Louis and the U.S.S. Nashville. This is a two-piece medal that is gilded metal, in uncirculated condition, but the gilt in several locations has flaked. Check the top bar and the upper left of the medal. It is 2 inches long and the top bar is 1 7/16 inch wide. The makers name, St. Louis Button Co., St Louis, Mo., is on the reverse. The top bar reads SOUVENIR. On the bottom piece it reads at the top, 1904 St. Louis, Missouri. In the center it reads U.S.S. NASHVILLE with the ship below. Below the ship it reads ON THE MISSISSIPPI.
